For what would one look
what sets them apart
could they be mistaken anywhere
what separates them from their counterpart?

Would you know one in Australia,
or Mozambique
would you know one fishing in an English creek?

What if on Russia's Red Square,
or in an Iraqie mosque
would you know one by the cloths he might ware?

At China's Great Wall
would he be short or maybe stand tall?

Could he be of Arabic descent
working in New York City
looking for freedom and happiness
now lying in the rubble? oh what a pity.

Worshiping God
holding onto the human spirit to be free
why just look around
could an American be you or me?

You wont need to look far
to find an American
though he could be Ukrainian, Spanish or Afghan.

Miss Liberty has welcomed them all
no mater the race or creed
that today they stand together united
this is guaranteed.
